Photograph caption dated May 15, 1957 reads "Mrs. Georgia Brandenburg, postmaster at Valyermo, one of the oldest stations in Antelope Valley, sells her grandson, James Brandenburg, 10, some stamped envelopes. She has been postmaster at Valyermo, 30 miles southeast of Palmdale, since 1931. Office was originally established in 1903."
