Description
This was the first home of Peter Hardeman Burnett, first American civil governor of California. Believed by a Burnett descendant or two to be only half of its original size, this house was built in Alviso in 1850 and moved in 1854 to what became 441 North First Street in San Jose. It remained there until it was razed in 1955.
