Description
The Mariposa Museum and History Center (Mariposa Museum and History Center) includes the Mariposa Gazette Building where this demonstration was filmed. The Mariposa Gazette Building was erected in 1854 as the Knights of Temperance Hall, later became a saloon and then in 1878 became the home of the Mariposa Gazette. The Gazette was first published in 1854 as the Mariposa Chronicle, then as the Mariposa Gazette, the name it carries today. The building contains a vintage collection of presses, furniture, cases of type and printing equipment used by the Mariposa Gazette. A Chandler and Price press from 1898 was used in this video.
