Photo caption reads: "Greer Garson, star of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's 'Mrs. Miniver,' plants the first registered 'Miniver Rose Bush' in Los Angeles at the headquarters of the Volunteer Army Canteen Service on Sunset Boulevard. Assisting the star are Mrs. Louis B. Mayer, honorary performance at the Carthay Circle Wednesday night when 'Mrs. Miniver' has its premiere and Sargeant [sic] George A. Peterson and Corporal Theodore M. Meloy of the First Signal Armor Battalion, Camp Young, Indio. Dr. Eugene S. Boorner, well-known California botanist developed the 'Miniver Rose' as an enduring tribute to the charm and valor of Jan Struther's book heroine as portrayed by Miss Garson in the film."
