Photograph caption dated October 3, 1956 reads "David Samaniego, left, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rafael Samaniego, 5614 Riverton Ave., North Hollywood, receives citation from Col. Richard J. Stillman, army infantry commander. Youth was presented award for being outstanding trainee in Regimental Guard on basis of appearance, military knowledge and understanding of general orders." Stillman is commanding officer of regiment in Fort Ord.
