Photograph caption dated December 12, 1949 reads, "Film and radio star Lucille Ball is the winner of the Jesters of America Comedy Achievement Award for 1949, according to the national organization, which is composed of humorists, writers and comedians. The star today received the loving cup presented her by the Jesters. She was selected as the person who has made the greatest contributions to American humor in the past year." The award was presented by Martin Ragaway and Leonard Stern.
