Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Arroyo Hondo adobe on the Old Ortega Rancho north of Santa Barbara, 1937. The one-story rancher, which was occupied by members of the Ortega family, is pictured behind a light covering of tree foliage at center. A picket fence runs the perimeter of the home, while a clothes line full of laundry can be seen tied between two trees. Farther in the foreground, two saw horses can be seen, a wooden frame of some sort supported between them. The roof of the rancher is two-tiered, a steep peak at top followed by a flatter awning beneath.
