Worm wheel and quick motion right ascension drive of 100-inch telescope, Mount Wilson Observatory. The worm wheel is seen in the upper right-hand corner of the photograph. The floor below the worm wheel is in the foreground; one can see the staircase leading to the interior balcony of the observatory building. At the far left in the foreground is a wooden ladder. The gearing of the worm wheel and ascension drive are clearly visible.
