Description
Annotation translation: "Eu, Muk. Sz. 1). Phin on 2). Kong Kui En 3). 1) Address/Salutation, directed to me (=Ebert, missionary). 2) Greeting (=Peace). 3). The name of the person portrayed overleaf, a former pupil of mine. He became a clergyman in the S.P.G. in Sarawak, but soon after he had this picture taken he was expelled because of political difficulties and went to Singapore. He left our church when he was still a very young catechist because of his health. His father died of consumption while in our service. The climate is better for this disease in Borneo than in China."
Annotation: "Eu, Muk. Sz. 1). Phin on 2).
