Title supplied by cataloger.; Photographs taken for a building survey which includes a narrative and documentation. The commercial office building located at 3750 W. 6th Street was built in 1952-53 by architect Cejay Parsons. Parsons was a prolific designer of commercial buildings in the Mid-Century Modern style which is very much represented by the 3750 W. 6th Street building with its flat rooftop, clean lines, and simple rectangular form. The building was built in an area, that at the time of its construction, was known as the "insurance center," because of the number of like buildings built on 6th Street between Western and Vermont Avenue that housed insurance companies. Parsons designed at least ten buildings in the "insurance center." The building located at 3750 W. 6th Street has since been demolished as part of the major renovation and expansion of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple. Exterior view of a commercial building located at 3750 W. 6th Street. The view looks southwest at the northeast corner of 6th and Harvard Streets. The Wilshire Boulevard Temple can be seen in the background.
