Description
A photo clipping from the Belvedere Citizen newspaer of Lupe Aviles (photo donor's mother and previous married name Rivera) being honored as Mother and Queen of the Year 1976 by Club Ignacio Obregon. The event was held at the Santa Maria Center (C.Y.O., Catholic Youth Organization) in East Los Angeles. The captions are in Spanish and read: ""Lupita Avilez Madrecita y Reina 1976 del Club Ignacio Obregon."" Lupe is shown wearing a tiara and a cape. This newspaper clipping is pasted onto an embossed paper with decorative borders. This image was provided by Jesse A. Ramirez for inclusion in the Foto East LA collection.
