Freeway type street approach signs for downtown area on Pico at Hill -- Hill south to First Street [sic] Poly-Ethylene plastic street approach signs along Wilshire and Wilton Olympic Boulevard sign on Hill Street Wilton Place sign on Wilshire. Caption slip reads: "Photographer: Snow. Date: 1960-12-01. Assignment: Street Signs. Special instructions: Negs to Kinne. Olympic Blvd sign on Hill St Wilton Place sign on Wilshire". Supplementary material reads: "2: Freeway-type street approach signs for downtown area now on Pico at Hill and all other east-west streets at Hill, south to First St. 3: Poly-ethylene plastic street approach signs (cemented to street surface in traffic lanes) now at 10 intersections along Wilshire Blvd. from Normandie, west to Wilton. MacMillin 510p Wed". Note: The phrase "Hill south to First Street" probably means "South Hill Street" -- the First Street splits Hill Street into South Hill and North Hill Streets. Additional information: despite the information from the supplementary materials, these photographs do not feature Pico Boulevard.
