Title supplied by cataloger. The interior of the Los Altos Methodist Church at 5950 East Willow Street in Long Beach showing the pews, pulpit, and organ. The organ is the William Benjamin Dearborn Simmons tracker pipe organ, originally constructed around 1846, in Boston, for the Howard Street Presbyterian Church in San Francisco. This hand-pumped tracker-action organ was sent by ship around Cape Horn and was the first American-built organ to be found west of the Mississippi River. The organ was acquired by the church and installed in the sanctuary in 1977. It is Long Beach Historic Landmark no. 16.52.100 and is a registered landmark with the Organ Historical Society of America
