Description
Shown in circa 1885 is Sutter Fort's multi-purpose central building, just before restoration in 1890. Prior to rehabilitation, the central building was the only portion of the original fort left and was viewed to be the first vestige of the fort to be rehabilitated by the State Board of Sutter's Fort Trustees.
