Photograph caption dated May 26, 1950 reads, "Part of the damage to the El Patio apartment house at 123 East Windsor road, Glendale, is pictured above after an explosion ripped the building early today. Five apartments were damaged. Mrs. Ethel W. Grissam was blown from bed and thought a bomb had exploded. Mrs. Lucille L. Hanson was injured. Agnes Hindman, one of the neighbors aroused as the blast rocked the neighborhood, inspects the damage, above. Accumulated gas was blamed for the blast."
