Young America welcomed the Freedom Train. Eleven young Cub Scouts of Den 7, Pack 669-C, roped together like mountain climbers, presented an odd sight on February 23, 1948, as they joined thousands of Angelenos greeting the Freedom Train. "We wanted to be certain none of us would be lost," one of them said.
