Description
Santa Ana's River of Tears quilt was created in 1995 by Santa Ana families who were affected by firearm violence. The quilt is over 45 feet long and 4 feet wide and contains 75 squares of fabric, each one representing a victim of Santa Ana gun violence in 1995. The quilt was taken to Sacramento in 1997 to advocate for gun safety. The Bleks lost their oldest son to gun violence in June 1994 Recorded in Laguna Hills for California of the Past California Preservation Service (CAPS)
