Description
Annotation translation: "Young Mbororo woman making butter. The hut in the background is accomodation for the winter. Around Christmas time (End of November to February) all young Mbororo women gather in Donga. That would be the time for evangelistic work among them. In the rainy season they [sic] settle right by the Mission Station in Kishong. Mission work is difficult because their language is quite different. The young woman holds a large calabash which she shakes to make cream or butter." - "Printed in HB [Heidenbote] 1938/7." Annotation: "Mbororo-Tochter beim Buttermachen. - "Cl. HB [Heidenbote] 1938 (7)." Stamped: "Museum der Basler Mission, Basel, Missionsstrasse 21."
