Photograph caption dated May 24, 1956 reads, "Donna Keyes, left, and Marlene Gates are among Western beauties competing for queen's throne at annual Pomona championship rodeo Saturday and Sunday. Event will be sponsored by Lions Clubs. Saturday night rodeo will benefit Pomona High School, recently destroyed by fire."
