Description
Stereo-4593. Orange mount, pink back. Shows men, instruments, building atop mountain. Also have negative: no. 22,177 (4x5 in.) One of a series of geodetic observatories established by George Davidson as part of the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey’s project to measure latitude and longitude on the Pacific Coast. In 1879, temporary structures were erected on the summit of Round Top.
