Description: View looking east on Consuelo Drive at the Los Angeles County Farm in Downey on April 6, 1928. At right is the Craftsman style cottage of Superintendent William R. Harriman. The farm was founded in 1887 as an almshouse and poor farm, also including shelter for the aged and mentally and physically disabled. Harriman's 1915 appointment saw the beginning of improvements at the facility.
