Packard Bell NEC, an international computer manufacturer, has corporate headquarters in Sacramento (One Packard Bell Way). Taken July 30, 1997, this is the front of the Packard Bell NEC Administration Building, which used to be the headquarters for the U.S. Army Depot in Sacramento. In 1997 Packard Bell NEC employed 3,800 full-time people, with an additional 5,000 seasonal employees for a total payroll of over $130 million. Packard Bell NEC was ranked second in the 1997 annual Top 25 list of the largest manufacturers based on number of employees in the Sacramento area put out by the "Business Journal serving Sacramento."
