“A lion shot by Rev. J. Henderson.” Image of dead lion. The Livingstonia mission was situated near the Henga Valley and was a favourite resort for big game hunting. James Henderson (1867-1930) was appointed to Livingstonia in 1894 and ordained by the Free Church in 1895. He transferred to Lovedale as the Principal in 1906 where he remained until his death in 1930. ❧ Album containing photographs recording a voyage up the Shire River and scenes from the Livingstonia mission.
