Description
Plates in: California's court houses, photographed in passing during the years 1918 to 1926 / by F.F. Gundrum M. D., Sacramento, pg. [8], no. 38 and no. 39. Completed in 1891, was known as "Red Sandstone Courthouse," located on Pound Cake Hill. Richardsonian Romanesque style, designed by architectural firm of Curlett, Eisen and Cuthbertson. View 1 (2014-1934). Shows half of building, Hotel Aberdeen in foreground -- view 2 (2014-1935). Shows courthouse, Hall of Records which served as seat of county government on right. Born in New Harmony, Indiana to parents Frederick and Ida (Fretagoot) Gundrun. Was a physician in Sacramento, served on State Board of Medical Examiners, State Board of Health, directory at Sutter Hospital, Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board, No. 7.
