Barbara Evans, popular New York debutante, listens to artist Dean Cornwell's explanation of his new painting "Beaumont and St. Martin", on exhibit at the American College of Surgeons' Convention, at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. "Beaumont and St. Martin" is the first of series of six large canvases to be called "Pioneers of American Medicine" for exhibition in schools and at Medical Conventions throughout the United States in cooperation with local Medical Societies.
