Description
Scope/Content: In July 1906 - the year of the great San Francisco fire and earthquake- this building was incorporated under the title: St. Joseph's Home and Hospital. This is the picture of the open air mass celebrated on that day. In 1928, a new concrete and steel hospital is completed and opened to the public on the existing property behind this building. In recent years, the old hospital was totally demolished for improvements and expansion to meet present standards. "The tiny acorn grew into a mighty oak tree."
