Description
Cast bronze bust of electronics pioneer Lee de Forest, by noted Southern California sculptors Holger Jensen (1896-1980) and Helen Webster Jensen (1896-1990), originally on display at the Foothills Electronics Museum. The Jensens sculpted busts of, among others, L.A. Times founders Harry Chandler and Harrison Gray Otis, Caltech president Robert Millikan, A.P. Gianini; Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Joseph Knowland, founder of the Oakland Tribune. They are also noted for their famous bronze animal sculptures at San Diego Zoo. The couple moved to Santa Monica in 1928, and were active there until the early 1970s.
