Photograph caption dated November 10, 1960 reads, "Civil Defense workers continue efforts to find 13-year-old Rickey Lucchi of Sepulveda who was swept into Bull Creek Saturday. West Valley civil defense worker Stan Vassallo, foreground, works with Venice city lifeguard Ed Perry, left in boat, and West Valley CD worker Dennis Cole in dragging channel bottom. In search of whole Sepulveda Flood Control basin area, police helicopters even flew over channels all the way to the ocean. Boy was believed drowned as he tried to retrieve a plastic toy boat."
