2008-3248 IN PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM: **F869.S9 S79 1920z, pg. 26. Plates in: Sutter Basin Company photograph album : irrigated river bottom lands. Photographs marked "McCurry" in lower right corner. Bank of Italy stands on a corner lot; entrance is on the right bordered by two Doric columns and two windows on other side of the columns; two Doric columns flank entrance side; on side five windows are separated by pilasters; above the columns is an entablature decorated with geometric boxes; above entablature is an overhang decorated with a frieze of small projecting lion heads; on side stand two leafless trees; on entrance side stands part of another building to the right. "14906" -- lower left corner. Sutter Basin Company developed and sold land in Sutter County as part of Sutter Basin Project. Irrigation system of pumping stations, canals, etc. was owned by Sutter Mutual Water Company. Water Company operated on co-operative basis with one share of stock attached to each acre land in Sutter Basin Project. $
