Description
Eastside Loop line from Fresno to Famosa. The first train in Porterville on this new line May 10, 1888. Railroads built sidings along their lines where there were no towns to encourage business. Railroad was completed in July 1888. The Roths built a platform by the track on their land and it was named Roth's Spur. Later, J.B. Chinn built a warehouse. This was the first building. Stage lines from Porterville went to post offices at Frazier, Globe, Daunt and Milo and carried mail and passengers.
