Description
Exterior view of the Eastern Star Home, located at 11725 Sunset Blvd. Built in 1931 by famed California architect William R. Mooser, it is a perfect example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. For more than 65 years, the building housed exemplary members of the Order of the Eastern Star, which included female relatives of Master Masons. In 1996, the retirement and convalescent facility was purchased by the Archer School and became the campus for the Archer School for Girls, a private school devoted to educating girls in grades 6-12.
