Photograph article dated January 9, 1962 partially reads, "The public has been invited to inspect a civil defense rescue truck and models of fallout shelters at Wednesday's meeting of the North Hollywood American Legion Post No. 301. Trained civil defense workers will demonstrate the setting up of an emergency medical station under a simulated air attack at the 9 p.m. meeting at Legion Memorial Hall, 5730 Cahuenga Blvd." Note: Pictured is Dorothy Day Thiele, district coordinator for Civil Defense in Encino.
