Photograph shows Susanne B. Wilson handing a certificate to Lois Cullison at her farewell luncheon. They are standing at a podium by a long table decorated with flowers and greenery. On verso: "June Summer 1977 Lois Cullison's farewell luncheon". Lois was the Executive Director of the YWCA. 7. "Lois M. Cullison, a social worker by training and a forceful YWCA administrator, arrived as executive secretary (the new name for general secretary) in 1959. Wilson served as YWCA president from 1967 to 1970, which was a turning point for her. In 1973 she became a San Jose City Council woman and became Vice Mayor. She then spent 12 years on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, rising to Chairwoman. She never forgot the YWCA and in the mid-1980’s Wilson helped spark the new headquarters and residence downtown, and drove the multimillion-dollar campaign to build it.
