Title supplied by cataloger. Pioneer Flintkote are manufacturers of asphalt and paper products such as roofing tiles and fiberboard. This site has seen many unfortunate events through the years: An asphalt vat explosion and fire occurred in 1953; a fire swept through thousands of bales of cardboard and fiberboard in 1955; and a steam explosion occurred at the paper plant in 1957.
