The thatched building is partly recognizable. On the right: Alinuvila is standing in a soldierly manner with a rifle. He is wearing a mixture of traditional and European clothes including a hat. Ernst Hermann Schnabel (1904-1953) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine and served in East Africa until the end of the 1930s. In 1934, he married Käthe Prellwitz in Kyimbila.
