Description
Heinz Heckeroth retired in 1988 after 33 years of State service. In his early career with the City of Los Angeles, he was Project Design Engineer on the East Los Angeles Interchange. His career in the Department began in District 7 in 1955 and steadily advanced in positions of responsibility in Distict 7 and Headquarters, including Deputy Director for District 7, Chief Deputy Director for Resource Management, and participating in the planning for the creation of Department of Transportation. After his retirement, he founded the California Transportation Foundation.
