Photograph caption dated December 9, 1949 reads, "First baptism in new church - John William Smiley, three weeks old, receives baptism from Rev. Father Patrick Francis O'Dwyer in the new St. Elisabeth Catholic Church in Van Nuys. The baby, held by his godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Stachowiak, was the first to be baptized in the church."; See image #00114471 for additional photo in this series.
