Description
Series I contains City of Sacramento papers. It includes notifications and receipts for parking from 1959 to 1978, city employee directories from the mid-1970s, an annual report for Sacramento from 1961-2, various reports on Old Sacramento, lists of city Administrative Officers, Department, and Division Heads from the mid-1970s, two city employee registers, and a printed 1896 County of Sacramento Precinct Register. Series II contains letters and memorandums from the City Clerk's office (most from October 26, 1972 concerning the Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour incident) and results of a hearing to revoke the dance permit for the Forty Grand Club on Del Paso Blvd. Series III contains a set of four illustrations of historic steam engines printed on foil commemorating the 100th anniversery of the Golden Spike, and a 5x7 Robert Miller print of Plaza Park. Series IV contains two publications on the 1906 Earthquake - U.S. Dept. of the Interior "People, Land & Water" (April 2006, v.12, no.13), and the U.S.Geological Survey "Facing the Great Disaster (April 2006), research notes, drafts, captions for photographs, a cd-rom of photographs, and correspondence for "Facing the Great Disaster"; a Sacramento Bee article on the earthquake featuring the donor; and an album of photographs from the 1906 Earthquake (to be copied and returned).
