Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated January 4, 1964 reads, "Motorist stops at spot on twisting road for view of the West Valley." The article partially reads, "County and city planners have been thinking of converting Mulholland Drive from a narrow lover's lane to a spectacular scenic highway...It is hoped this proposed scenic highway also will serve as an access route which will enable the development of surrounding land. Developers are visualizing billions of dollars of construction to accommodate hundreds of thousands of residents within an area larger than the city of San Francisco. Plans are currently on the drawing boards of the city Planning Department for detailed development of Mulholland Drive from Sepulveda Boulevard to Topanga Canyon Boulevard--the only unpaved portion of the route."; See images #00120789 through #00120790 for all photos in this series.
