The Treasury released this special Bataan poster on April 9th, the First Anniversary of Bataan. Copies of this poster, dedicated to the soldiers who gave their lives in the Phillipine campaign, were distributed throughout the United States by the War Savings Staff. The original painting for this poster was created by the noted American artist, Alexander Brook, and was placed on exhibition on Bataan Day in the Brooklyn Museum in the first of a national series of museum showings of original paintings designed for poster use, sponsored by the Treasury Department under the title "Art for Bonds" to stimulate War Bond sales. Photo dated: April 9, 1943.
