Description
Caption from May 29, 1988 Sacramento Bee reads "Wearing protective clothing to guard against fumes, mechanic Mike Wanderer hands a bit of plumbing to J.B. Bryant in the course of cleaning the F-111's huge fuel tank." "Early in the overhaul schedule of the F-111 from a tactical fighter squadron at Mountain Home, Idaho, Mike Wanderer (right) hands some plumbing up through the opening of the F-1 (forward No. one) fuel tank. This is one of seven fuel tanks on the airplane which has to be cleaned and resealed. JB Bryant (left) on the outside of the tank receives the plumbing.
