Description
Photograph of a series of advertising cards issued by Boston ship owners Glidden and Williams, recruiting passengers to San Francisco, ca.1860. Three cards are shown: at left, two horizontal business-style cards are shown, the topmost picturing a man climbing an American flagpole, the second advertising Governor Langdon. The third card, to the right, is taller than it is wide and pictures a knight blocking an arrow against his shield. Below it the text reads "The Magnificent Extreme Clipper Ship Invincible".
