Title supplied by cataloger. Lamentation, is a solo piece where the dancer is seated on a bench. Her costume is a long stretching tube of material in which only her face, hands and bare feet can be seen. The movements are sparce and represent not a woman's mourning, but rather the pain itself. Photograph shows an unidentified dancer with the Martha Graham Dance Company, performing in "Lamentation". Photograph dated November 21, 1984.
