Description: The first Recordak newspaper microfilm reader for the San Diego Public Library was purchased in 1950. Patrons doing newspaper research also had access to an extensive subject card index to the "San Diego Herald" and the "San Diego Union" started in 1930 by Reference Librarian Grace Arlington Owen. The cards were Title supplied by cataloger.
