Photograph caption dated March 11, 1957 reads, "With a champion's will to win, Patty Kempner, 14, of the Kris Kristenson Swim School of North Hollywood gives promise of making a strong bid for free style honors in the National AAU Women's Indoor swimming championships at Beverly Hills High School, April 16-18. Patty, finalist in the Detroit Olympic swim trials, is an age group competitor moving into the senior competition."
