Lillian Gish in front a large blow-up of a 10 cent U.S. postage stamp depicting motion picture director D.W. Griffith. The commemorative stamp was issued on the occasion of Griffith's 100th birthday. Gish is pictured during a ceremony at the American Film Institute's Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. Postmaster General Benjamin F. Bailar credited Gish for spearheading the movement to award Griffith a stamp. Photograph dated May 29, 1975.
