View of the William DeMille residence in Hollywood, a two-story craftsman home with shingle siding. He was a playwright, screenwiter and film director and the elder brother of Cecil B. De Mille. He was an early member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and help found the USC Film School. (He spelled his last name in the original way, whereas his brother inserted a space.)
