Photograph caption dated August 3, 1962 reads, "Fritz B. Burns heaves first shovelful of dirt while William Hannnon [sic], left, and Alfred E. Mann watch." The article partially reads, "Construction on a 24,000-square-foot electronics laboratory in San Fernando was started this week, a building scheduled to be part of a nucleus for expanded aerospace industry facilities. The new building will house Spectrolab, an associate facility of Textron Electronics, Inc. The laboratory is being constructed in the San Fernando Industrial Park, 250 acres of property in San Fernando owned by the Fritz B. Burns and Associates Development Co. Alfred E. Mann, president of Spectrolab, said the new building will house his firm's auxiliary power system group and precision optic shop."
