Photograph was edited for publication purposes Lammot du Pont Copeland, Jr. is the great great-grandson of Eleuthere Irenee Du Pont. Du Pont was the founder of the gunpowder and chemical manufacturing company and head of one of the wealthiest families in the United States. In 1970, after acquiring several California newspapers, Lammot Copeland, Jr. filed the biggest personal bankruptcy action in U.S. history, forcing the shutdown of the Valley Times Newspaper.
