Description: At the time this photograph was taken, the Long Beach steam plant of Southern California Edison Company had a generating capacity of 422,000 horsepower with plans calling for an additional 950,000 horsepower on this site during the next ten years. When completed, the plant represented an investment of approximately one hundred and thirty-five million dollars.
